In an effort to bring strength, stability and self-reliance to our community, Albany Area Habitat for Humanity has adopted an Owner-Occupied Home Repair Program, which will enable us to serve more families and allow us to be more relevant in neighborhoods that may have needs other than new housing.

Our repair activities include a modest array of home preservation, and critical home repair.

  1. Home Preservation (also known as A Brush With Kindness): Exterior work that includes painting, patching minor repair, landscaping and replacement of exterior building materials for maintaining good or sound condition.    Examples include:  window repair (new screen, glass, glazing), minor siding and trim repair, board replacement in porch, stair or ramp, door replacement, brush/junk removal.
  2. Critical Home Repair: Window/door replacement, Porch or wheelchair ramp replacement.

All interested homeowners will be required to complete a Home Repair request form.
